A while ago we were building a website for a client who wanted a duplicate site in Dutch. After much deliberation and a few trials, we had the site professionally translated. Although Google translate is good and good enough for sending an email to book a holiday in a foreign language, it really isn’t good enough to use on your website… yet. There are also lots of plugins for common platforms, like WordPress, Joomla and Opencart etc but again none are up to scratch… yet. We are not far off the day when tech companies like Google, Apple and Microsoft will have the translate software near perfect and just like Captain Kirk and Spoke, the tiny translator in our ear will mean we can understand anyone from any country (or maybe world) but until then if you need a website in a foreign language get a translator.
