Before you approach a web designer you need to have a clear idea of what you want. A good designer will discuss colours, layouts, logos and formats with you and help you establish the essential parts of the site. But, if you have already done your homework, this process is much quicker and easier for both parties. Before we meet a new client, we encourage them to look at their competition and other websites that may stand out as being to their taste. This helps us gauge the client’s desires for their website and helps us formulate a plan for the site. We always give the client an honest opinion on the ideas they have but at the end of the day this is your website and you get what you want, not what we want. We will suggest that your site is built to maximise your SEO potential, but designs can be adapted to allow Google to spider the site if the design you like is not very SEO friendly. Remember preparation is king, page titles, digital images, prices, descriptions and page copy need to be ready as soon as the design stage is completed, so get busy.
